DHI Introduces Dao by Dorsett - A New Aparthotel Concept

Dao by Dorsett launches its first aparthotel, Dao by Dorsett AMTD Singapore, shortly followed by its second property, Dao by Dorsett West London. More than just a stay, the aparthotels are designed to adapt to our guests' unique lifestyles. 

DHI Opens First Dorsett Hotel in Australia 

Alongside FEC's on-going projects in Australia, including the development of The Ritz-Carlton Perth and The Ritz-Carlton Melbourne, Dorsett Gold Coast becomes Dorsett Hospitality International's first hotel in Australia - opening its doors on Boxing Day, 2021. 

DHI Launches New Loyalty Programme

Dorsett – Your Rewards loyalty programme is launched to reward guests with exclusive benefits, experiences and discounts at the Group's participating hotels. To date, the loyalty programme has over a million members worldwide. 

DHI Enters the UK

Dorsett Hospitality International opens its first hotel in the United Kingdom with the opening of Dorsett Shepherds Bush, a lovingly-restored Grade II building (built in 1923 as a cinema) in London. 

City University of Hong Kong Chooses Dorsett for Renovation and Management project

Dorsett Hospitality is appointed to renovate and manage City University of Hong Kong’s CityU Lodge - providing 80 guestrooms, with four tiers of room types, for CityU partners and guests participating in CityU related academic programmes. Other facilities include a gym room, laundry room and all-day-dining bistro. 

Establishment of Dorsett Hospitality International (DHI; previously Kosmopolito Hotels International)

Following the successful opening of several of their own hotels, FEC establishes Dorsett Hospitality International as its subsidiary – with a vision to build, operate and manage properties not only within their portfolio, but in collaboration with other property owners, partners and investors by creating globally-acclaimed brands and levagering their experience as a vertically-integrated developer and operator.

Today, under the leadership of Winnie Chiu JP, BBS, Chairperson and Executive Director of Dorsett Hospitality International, Joint-Managing Director of FEC and third-generation leader of the business, the Group has grown from 11 hotels to over 54 hotels across 21 vibrant cities.

The Group Expands to Mainland China 

FEC opens its first hotel property in Mainland China, Dorsett Wuhan.

d.Collection Makes its Debut

The Group launches their boutique brand, d.Collection, with the opening of Cosmo Hotel Hong Kong - marking the third brand offering of the group with a focus on an eclectic mix of art and design. 

Silka Hotels Unveils its First Hotel

The Group launches a second brand, Silka Hotels, focusing on value and a no-frills approach without comproising on comfort. The brand launches with the opening of Silka Seaview in Hong Kong. 

The First Dorsett Hotel Opens

Tan Sri Dato’ David Chiu, Chairman and Executive Director of Far East Consortium (FEC), further propells the growth of FEC into the realm of real estate and property development. Together with Puan Sri Nancy Chiu, who designed the signature Dorsett lotus logo, Tan Sri Dato' David Chiu opens the Group's very first hotel. 

Targeting the accessible luxury segment, the Group's flagship brand, Dorsett Hotels, opens its first property Dorsett Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.

Our Visionary - Mr. Deacon Chiu JP 

Our roots trace back to visionary Mr. Deacon Chiu JP who founded Far East Consortium (FEC), providing art, culture and entertainment to the local community in Hong Kong while also operating in property, flour mills and other businesses. FEC was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 1972 and is one of Hong Kong’s most long-standing developers.
